ANOTHER UPDATE… He may have another small intestine obstruction and they are going to do the pump but the question is when. He was brought into the hospital last night and because of the obstruction they can’t do it tomorrow. He was in a lot of pain last night and hit the point of complete confusion. He didn’t know where he was at or anything… it was pretty hard to see him like that. He’s in a much better place and spirits are back on track. The thing that really gets me is the dr… he keeps apologizing to me. I know I am most likely reading too much into this… but he keeps telling how sorry he is and that Anthony is just not progressing the way they’d hoped. See 5 centimeters for each tumor is progress but based on his drugs it should be far better than that. They are going to try to switch his chemo drugs up again as soon as he will be able to restart them again. The other really hard thing is the kids… they were home alone with him when he took his sudden turn and I mean it was sudden. They were pretty shaken by it all and I feel like crap for not being there. I did need to grocery shop but I just never expected him to go so far south so quickly… I expect him to be here through the weekend. Please continue with all those prayers… :)

They have continued to increase all of his pain meds and are putting him on a continuous pain pump next week. He has had success in his liver… Both of the largest tumors went down 5 centimeters (1st one measured at 4in 7cm now 4in 2cm & the 2nd one measured 2in 7cm now 2in 2cm) so that is good news. They did say that it’s not moving down as fast as they would like. They said that the bladder and kidney progression is still inconclusive. They said that they have to monitor him with frequent testing and scans and that if it has spread they won’t be able to tell until it has reached 1cm. He still has some blood and tissue coming out in his urine so they will continue to also test that every 2 weeks too. They said that his pain all stems from the enlarged tumors and lymph nodes thought his stomach and the tumors that have enlarged his liver. That’s pretty much it in a nut shell. Slowly but surely moving in the right direction… and I wanted to let you know where we are at so far.

If you know of any Stage 4 colon cancer success stories… please post them or pm. I like hearing all the positive stories… they help in the hard times.

Thanks again for all of your prayers and concerns!

Wow…first of all, You and your family are in my prayers! Second, you have a gorgeous family! My ex-husband had stage 4 gastric cancer almost 7 years ago. He is cancer free and living a healthy life today. They gave him at most 1 – 3 years to live. He did a very, very intense treatment plan along with surgery. They removed 3/4 of his stomach, made a new one out of his instestine and removed 27 lymph nodes, 21 of which were cancerous.

I am so sorry you and your family are going through this. Please just remember that God is there and he is in control of the situation. Embrace those around you and let them embrace you. I am in tears as I write this, even though I don’t like my ex-husband, I still feel the pain you are going through now.

Please feel free to PM me at any time. There is hope, there always is, stay as positive as possible. Have him watch funny movies, they say it works! We surrounded ourselves with as much positivity as possible, especially when we really didn’t want to be around it. Does that make any sense at all?

You are in my prayers…
