You sound just like dh ;) I don’t really see anything wrong with it…I saw a really cute one the other day with lady bugs on it. I would rather Gabby wear one now than when she is older but that’s just my opinion. For now though daddy says no 2 pieces for his princess.

I agree with you…I have two DD and I have never been real keen on the idea of either of them in a two piece. As they have grown older (one being in middle school) they do not want to wear a bikini at this point. I am satisfied that I have been able to teach them about modesty and not be a frump about it. There are PLENTY of cute one piece suits out there that don’t show a lot of skin.

My dd has a 2-piece and I think it happens to be cute, not sexy. It’s blue with green polka dots. If she needs to go to the bathroom, it’ll be easier just to pull down the bottoms instead of fighting with a wet one-piece.
I love my little disco diva!
My DD is 2, and she wears a bikini. I think I buy her cute swimsuits because mine are less than cute! It’s not skimpy, and she has a big swim diaper coming out everywhere. So, if anyone think she is sexy, that is there prob, not mine.
I think she is adorable, here she is last year…
When my girls were babies and toddlers I would only put them in two-piece swimwear. It made diaper changes and mad dashes to the potty SO much easier than trying to struggle them out of a wet one piece.

See I think that is toooo cute!

I forgot about the diapers!! Ugh! See? What the heck do I know about girls. Anybody have a boy they wanna trade?
Viable argument though….
ETA: you may have just sold me on the idea now…where can I find very unflattering, grandma-ish two piece baby swimwear?

That’s my new reason!! I love the baby bikini’s. I think my dd is too cute in them. If anyone finds it sexual, then they would probably feel the same way with a jogging suit on her.

We really tried to avoid the bikinis, but last year someone gave one to my (then) 2 yr old. Of course it was the one she wanted to wear all the time. It wasn’t particularly skimpy- but was hideous. And it was handy at diaper change time.
I do sort of wonder about some of the skimpy ones- why bother? For outdoor pools, we usually put a swim shirt on dd and if she’s going to be out for a while we go for board shorts. She’s got red hair and really fair skin- burns in no time flat.

I’m gonna get old school up in this thread… :) Summer is coming up and having DD now, I was thinking about this..
I am anti-baby bikinis. I think it’s inherently wrong to put a sexy swimsuit on an infant. I don’t think I’m going to allow a two piece until at least middle school, and THEN, I will need to go through an evaluation process again to see if I’m ready. Yikes, having a girl is a harrowing experience.
Anyone else with me on the baby bikinis, though? Or for that matter, bikinis on little girls? It freaks me out…
