I just had to share – I finally killed the damn gnat that was buzzing around my kitchen for the last 3 days.

Probably because it’s summer and we’re more likely to have fruit in our kitchens. Maybe it’s actually fruit flies.

Fresh fruit usually… this fella was friendly with my bananas. He got caught in a cabinet for a while but that didn’t faze him. You can make a trap for them.

Use a glass, or glass jar – pour a bit of apple cider vinegar in it, add a few drops of dish soap, then take a while sheet of paper & roll it up into a funnel with a really small opening (use tape or a staple to hold it). Sit the paper funnel on top of the glass/jar. They get in & drown :) It works pretty well, but I didn’t feel like going to the trouble for one gnat. And this trap is the only reason I keep cider vinegar in the pantry LOL! I wish ants liked the trap, too…

Naturally, this guy has family that have moved in. There’s now one randomly showing up & another that I trapped in the dishwasher. At least I think I did.

We have tons of them too and they are wanting to explore the rest of the house as well. My dh bought a fly and gnat stick, like fly tape but it sits on the counter. we have it out and almost all of the suckers have gotten stuck to it.
