I’m sorry to hear about your dad. Hopefully the doctor can help get him on a better diet and exercise program so he can be around for a long time!!

I will say a little prayer for your family, especially your dad, that everything goes well at the doctor.
I’m so sorry. I’m saying a prayer for your Dad and that he is connected with the right doctor.

I’m so sorry your dad is going through this. The pain you describe could be something as simple as sciatica though, not necessarily a clot. Especially if he sits a lot and he is inactive. There is a nerve that runs through your rear end that then runs down your leg. When it gets pinched in the muscles or compressed from being sat on too much, it causes shooting pains down the backs of the thighs and sometimes tingling in the lower leg. Tell him to see a physical therapist right away. His family doctor can write a prescription. Good luck!
I am praying for your dad and for you!!!
I know what it’s like to worry about a parent like that. My mom has had blood clots in her legs in the past and has a very unstable clotting level, so it’s always a worry, especially now that she is getting ready for gastric bypass surgery next month. I just have to keep reminding myself that none of us are guaranteed tomorrow, and I don’t want to waste the time I have with my mom (or any of my loved ones) by spending it worrying. Easy thing to say, hard to do!
I’ll keep praying for your dad’s safety and that he will do what he needs to do to get his body under control, and I’ll also be praying that you will have a sense of peace about the situation. Hang in there!

I will keep your dad in my prayers.
I’m beginning a new healthier lifestyle tomorrow. If you’d like more info for your dad, PM me. I completely understand the eating because of stress thing. I do it too. It is really just as dangerous an addiction as anything else.
He will be in my prayers.

Your family will be in my thoughts. If your mom thinks he has a clot he needs to be seen before Friday. I agree with the pp though that it could be a sciatic nerve problem. Can he see the doctor before Friday? Keep us posted!

I am praying for you, certainly. In the meantime please please check out this diet program located at www.provida.com. It is called the 6 week body makeover. The man that designed this is a diet coach on biggest loser, he is excellent. The diet worked wonders for me, until I got pregnant back to back. Anyway you can try it out for 6 weeks first, so he could order it and let his doctor and nutritionist have a looksy. I can’t stress how amazing this diet is.
Then finally I will say that I will pray for all of you, and I will pray for you all to find hope in this situation as well. Best Wishes and get well soon prayers for your daddy.

I will keep your dad and family in my prayers…. But you know I had something quite similar last winter and guess what it turned out to be….a pinched nerve from the stupid chairs at school.
Stay positive!!

Please help me out here ladies. We need some divine intervention.
My Dad was helping my Grandma move some things into a truck to take to California to my Grandpa back in 2002. He hurt his back really bad and had to have surgery. Because he couldn’t go back to work as soon as planned, he lost his job.
When he lost his job, he became very depressed. So he would sit around and eat more, which in turn lead to major weight gain. Upwards of 100 pounds.
Well, he still has not been to work, but did start back to college.
He told me today that he is having issues with his left leg. His thigh area has been tingly since his surgery, but now he has a shooting pain at the thigh, and an ache from his knee down. My Mom is a Nurse Practitioner, and she thinks it is most likely a clot. Since he sits so much, he doesn’t have very good circulation.
He is going to go to the doctor next Friday and they will most likely do a Doppler on him, to see what’s going on. If the clot gets loose and goes to his brain or heart, he will most likely die.
Girls, my Dad is 41! He has a 6yo granddaughter, a wife, and 2 daughters that need him! I don’t want to lose my Dad, but geez! What can we do? He has had a few health scares, and nothing seems to phase him.
So, my Dad is 41, 6ft, and weighs 430. I need some prayers that he will be ok, and that he will wake up and get healthy.
My Mom is certain that by the time she is 50 (she’s 44) she will be a widow. My Grandpa raised me until I was 4, and I want my DD to have the same experience with her Papaw that I did with mine.
If you made it this far, thank you. I really need some Higher Power to help me out.
