I’m curious when everyone’s kids started crawling? I know this has been discussed before, but I’m starting it up again.

Zach is getting up on his hands and knees, and I’m wondering when other people’s kids did the same things. I can’t remember exactly with my other two.

So, humor me please, when did your kids start crawling?

Jacob started crawling at 8 months. Alexander started crawling at 5 1/2 months.

I had to look it up in their baby books :)

I think Lilly started at like 8-9 months… but she was a little late, then only crawled for like a month or so and then took off walking!

Well this one is a little hard for me to talk about right now…but we are here to help each other out aren’t we? So, My oldest started crawling when he was around 7 months old and walked on his birthday. My youngest (my baby) will be one year old on July 31st and has yet to crawl. He will be receiving help from first steps, so hopefully soon we will see some progress. He has low muscle tone so we will be working him out in daddys weight room (kidding. The thing to remember is that every child is different.

I think my little guy (will be 3 in September) started “army crawling” around 8 months and then went to all fours around 9 or 10 months. He walked a little after his first birthday. It is amazing how I have forgotten all that stuff! At the time it was super important to me, and now I can’t even remember anymore!

My DS is 8 months and he scoots backwards and gets up on all fours. He is great about walking his hands out but when his knees don’t go anywhere he just falls flat on his face – oh well, gotta learn some how!

According to the HELP (Hawaii Early Learning Profile) developmental charts children should start crawling between 8-8.5 months old and creep (what we call crawling) on hands and knees between 9 and 11 months. I wouldn’t start worrying yet, every child is different and even if they are a little late that’s not necessarily a bad thing they may catch up. I would only be concerned and seek help such as First Steps if they child is a year old and still hasn’t started crawling. I hope this helps!

Oh I understand that all children are different. I’m just looking for a guideline here.

I’m sure all will be fine with your baby. Just keep working with him, and he’ll get it eventually. My BIL walks with a brace, he’s 13, and he lives a pretty goJust know that no matter what he’ll be fine, as long as he is well loved!!

(((HUGS))) to you. Thank you for answering my question!
