Yes, just a little ice tea like most of the PP have said..and half the time I am drinking decaf…No, none of my kids want my occasional cup of coffee…Oh they did sips off of my iced coffee when I was on that Starbuck freebie kick! It appealed to them obviously b/c I would have Starbucks dress it up with whip cream on top!

For some children, caffeine has the opposite effect than it has on adults. That is, it can actually act as a depressant rather than a stimulant. I had an aunt who gave my cousin some coffee when she wanted him to calm down. So just watch your kids after you give it to them and see how they react.
2 yr old DD loves iced tea but she’s only allowed little sips of de-caf. DS doesn’t like tea or coffee at all. We only allow little amounts of very diluted juice.
I have to tell my 12yo ds to not take the last of it!
He makes “coffee-milk” in the morning—more milk than coffee.
When I was little, we called it “mocha milk,” a treat when we went out for lunch w/ my mom and grandma, who always ordered coffee.
DD is 22 months and she loves iced tea. We don’t let her have a lot but she gets several sips when we are drinking it. She always wants to try my coffee drinks but unless they are really sweet, she says “yuck! mommy’s coffee!” She did try a sip of a light frapuccino and loved that. Otherwise like OP said, she drinks water and milk. We don’t do juice. She eats tons of fruit, so juice is just extra un-needed calories and sugar.
My daughter loves iced tea, and would drink coffee regularly if I let her. But I try to limit her to sips of mine on occasion.

Maybe I should let my son have a little. He’d probably lose interest. Right now whenever he sees me with a coffee mug, he says “my coffee.” No, kid, it’s MY coffee. I’d never give him Starbucks, it’s got the kick of a mule compared to other coffees. I don’t notice so much, but my dad, who drinks instant, sure does. He doesn’t need the caffeine anyway, I spent three hours yesterday trying and failing to get him to take a nap.
I hated coffee the first time I drank it- I was seventeen or eighteen. I learned how to drink it in college because you could get free refills at IHOP, but I still thought it was repulsive. I had to go overseas before I learned to love it. My grandma used to make sun tea and I would have some of that very watered down, but honestly it doesn’t taste like much. I think if he tried them he wouldn’t like the taste or would be bored by it. Right now it’s a struggle to get him to drink water, so I think tea and coffee can wait.

I’m just wondering how many out there allow their kids to have small amounts of coffee and tea.
We are not a soda family, but we adults drink lots of coffee and iced tea. We sweeten both, if at all, with Splenda. DS-9 loves tea and recently we’ve started giving DD-13 mos tea and she loves it. Both kids only get a small amount in addition to mostly water.
DS does not really like the taste of coffee, but I was having some yesterday morning and the baby was begging for a drink, so I gave her a couple of sips. She LOVED it. I had to cut her off.
IMO, coffee and tea are natural substances and I believe they’re perfectly ok for children in small amounts. Actually, I think that they may be slightly better than juice, which is loaded with calories! Anyone else allow their children coffee and/or tea?
