Good luck! I understand. Going to the dentist stinks!

Thanks! At least DD won’t see me if I cry.
Are you sure its the tiny cavity causing you pain? Most small cavities wouldnt cause the kind of pain you describe. Does the tooth hurt when you tap on it? Have them make sure its not a cracked tooth..it wouldnt show up on xrays with certain vertical cracks.
Anyways, dont worry about the needle pain. They numb you up with the gel stuff first so you wont even feel the needle. Just think happy thoughts!
Actually, yes, he tapped on it, and it brought tears to my eyes.
I didn’t think a baby cavity would hurt that much either, but I figured he was the Doc. I’ll ask again today when I go in.
Good to know about the gel. They didn’t use that when I was younger.
Sounds like you might need a root canal. Is it temperature sensitive? I just had one, no biggie!

bringing tears to your eyes..sounds more than just a cavity. Not to scare you or anything. Just want to make sure you get the proper treatment. Ive had so many crappy dentists.
Have him test the nerve sensitivity too. They can do that by applying something that feels super cold. They try all the teeth in that area. If you have nerve involvement with one..that tooth you will feel the cold sensation a lot longer and makes u cringe a bit. Then it may need root canal. Even those are pretty painless..once you get numbed up you wont feel a thing. There must b a dental assistant on here that can give you a better explanation than mine! lol
Thanks for the support girls!
I just got home, and am pretty numb. I am having fun playing with my numb lips, and mouth.
I am going to see how my tooth does, and if I still have sensitivity, I am going to go back.

I was having a shooting pain on the right side of my face. It would go up into my brain, and down through my neck. I went to the dentist, and they found a cavity so small that the x-ray didn’t pick it up. I’ve had to deal with the pain for 10 days, and it’s been terrible.
My appointment is at 2 today, and I am SO scared! I am 26 and have had fillings before, but it’s been about 15 years since the last one. Why am I such a pansy? The part that I am dreading is the needle in the gum to numb it.
UGH! Wish me luck ladies!
