2 ounces out of one side at two weeks post partum is GREAT! That’s probably all her little tummy can hold right now. Try pumping in the morning time, you will be more full and probably get 2 ounces out of each breast- thats 2 bottles so you can get out!
She will continue to eat often for a while. The reason is that breastmilk is such a great source of nutrition for them they process it very quickly. It breaks down so easily because it is made just for that baby, and their bodies use all of it. Not like formula where there is a lot of waste.
As she gets older and starts eating more you will produce more at pumping sessions. Just keep it up. If you are going back to work I would suggest an electric pump. But, if you are planning to stay home a manual will do just fine. You will get used to it and it will be easier to get the milk out. I used Avent manuals with each of my kids and BFed for 11 months each, at one point with my son I would pump in the AM and get obout 5 ounces out of each breast because I made a schedule.
Good luck and keep up the good work!

I’ve been exclusively breastfeeding now for two weeks and 2 days. I finally got the courage to pump and give her a bottle today. (I’ve been worried that after I gave her a bottle she wouldn’t want to go back to the breast.) So today I wanted to get out of the house, and I pumped with my Medela Harmony breast pump (it’s a manual), after pumping for what seemed like forever, I only got 2 oz out of one breast. Is this normal?? Shouldn’t there be more in there? Is it because my breast pump isn’t strong enough, or is my milk supply going away? What can I do to increase my supply?? I’m just worried that I’m not producing enough milk. The good news is that Hadleigh is gaining lots of weight, and she’s pooping and peeing fine. Anyone have any ideas??
Also…does anyone know how much it is to rent a pump from the Expressions store?
